The Zodiac Has an Alphabet
These are its letters. Thirty-six Atoms, one glyph per decan. Forty-two Atomic Words, the figures they spell. A derived, rather than assigned, notation for the seventy-eight archetypes of the Tarot.
The Forms Fall Out of Constraints
Images for the decans have existed since Egypt, and geometric figures have been assigned to the planets since Agrippa. In every prior system the correspondences are assigned — by doctrine, by inherited iconography, by tracing paths on a grid, by artistic judgment.
Here the forms fall out of constraints. Given the rules, the thirty-six Atoms and the forty-two Words are determined rather than chosen — computable, checkable, and falsifiable.
The Anatomy of an Atom
One glyph per decan. Each carries two rulership registers at once and encodes each as sidedness — the planet written as its kamea number. Nothing in an Atom is decorative.
The Triplicity Ascent ruler. Mars rules the fire trine from Aries; his kamea is five; the boundary is a pentagon. Twelve outer families — element and planet together, never planet alone.
The Chaldean face ruler — the traveler. One continuous seven-cycle across all thirty-six decans, beginning here: Aries I is Mars, a five-pointed star.
Unison: a self-similar nest. Stillness. Where the two registers share a factor the figure locks; where they are coprime, it hums.
The kamea number — the side-length of each planet's classical magic square — is the only load-bearing variable.
Six Families, Six Partitions
What the Atoms spell. Each family consumes all thirty-six Atoms exactly once — six independent partitions of the same wheel. Two hundred and sixteen placements; no two Words alike.
Twenty-Eight Designs, Eight Twin Pairs
Within every element-and-planet family, two members sit fourteen decans apart. Fourteen is twice seven: the Chaldean cycle returns them the same traveler, so they share all three determinants and draw identically.
This is the grammar classifying, not a defect. A twin is the same drawing, placed twice.
Every Atom Also Sounds
The traveler's melody is the kamea traced one to n-squared — in the Room lord's mode, in the key of the sign. Thirty-six figures; thirty-six phrases. Saturn walks nine slow notes; the Moon, eighty-one fast ones.
The Record of Derivation
Every rule is stated, every choice logged, every figure checkable against the specification. Given the rules, anyone may redraw the set and compare. The archival files — spec, master tables, verification log, artwork, and audio canon — are public.
